Paula!

It is true when they say 32% of couples meet through mutual friends. Yan and I are a classic example of this notion. I remember our first encounter sometime in 2016 when we all met at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner ; barely spoke to each other and then at another event, few years later, but we never really got acquainted to each other up until 2018 when I saw him at the pool in Mountain hotel and recognized that face. I knew I could not leave without saying hi. So I walked up to him and said “hey you’re Yanick right?”. This guy had a confused look on his face and reluctantly said yes it is i. Clearly he could not make me out so I reintroduced myself and reminded him of where and how we knew each other. Feeling embarrassed at how that turned out. I left with my friends. On my way out I heard a voice shouting my name, this guy was literally running after me to get my number lol… so we exchanged contacts and went separate ways. Funny enough he never called or sent a text till after 3 months!!

Wait hold on!! In my defense, I was a really shy guy back then. I barely knew how to talk to ladies again after 2 years of not being in the game.
So looking at this story from my perspective I was just blown away by this girl’s confidence walking up to me to say hi and all, me still being confused. I totally forgot to take her number until one of my guys threatened to collect her number for himself. That’s when reality hit me and I ran to get her contacts. Like I said I was shy and didn’t have the courage to approach a lady for anything serious hahahahaha.

So Paula and I began talking sometime in February 2019. We got to know a little about each other and that was it. Nothing too serious, just platonic friendship, till I realized I started developing feelings for her. Then our friend Cynthia was getting married and we happened to be part of the bridal party. This was definitely going to be the perfect opportunity to bond with Paula. So we opted to be each other’s partner and that day 24th August 2019 was when our real love story began.
Little did we know that our special friendship will turn to this incredible happy ending After that day we grew an incredible friendship which turned into a sweet relationship and here we are. I’m getting married to my bestie!!
